Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly accurate display opening/closing detection apparatus capable of suppressing influence of external light in incidence of infrared rays when adopting the display opening/closing detection apparatus using light emitting/receiving elements of infrared rays.SOLUTION: The display opening/closing detection apparatus including a display part 1, supporting means 15 capable of rotating the display part 1 and a body part 2 connected to the display part 1 by the supporting means 15 includes also: a light emitting part 6 arranged in the display part 1 to emit infrared rays; a light receiving part 10 arranged in the body part 2 to receive infrared rays; a light guiding part 12 for converging infrared rays emitted from the light emitting part 6 and guiding the infrared rays to the light receiving part 10; a control part 13 connected to the light receiving part 10, and turning off a power supply of a display when the light receiving part 10 receives infrared rays; and shielding means 14 arranged on the outside of the body part 2 to shield external light so that the external light other than the infrared rays emitted from the light emitting part 6 is not made incident on the light guiding part 12.
