ENDOSCOPE APPARATUS AND EXAMINATION METHOD USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope apparatus capable of efficiently using the capacity of a recording medium by reducing the amount of data to be recorded in the recording medium according to the moving speed of a distal end.SOLUTION: An endoscope apparatus 1 includes: a sensor 12 provided at a distal end 2a of an insertion section 2 and detecting information for detecting an insertion speed of the insertion section 2; and a control section 15 calculating the insertion speed of the insertion section 2 based on the information for detecting the insertion speed of the insertion section 2 detected by the sensor 12. The endoscope apparatus 1 further includes: a control section 19 determining whether the insertion speed of the insertion section 2 calculated by the control section 15 is faster than a prescribed insertion speed or not; and a video processing section 17, when the control section 19 determines that the insertion speed of the insertion section 2 is faster than the prescribed insertion speed, reducing the amount of moving image data to be recorded in the recording medium 21 and recording the moving image data.
