Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten an average time necessary for restarting a diesel engine.SOLUTION: When a position of a stop-time compression stroke cylinder 2C stopped at a compression stroke at an automatic stop is in a specified range R which is set at an intermediate part between an upper dead point and a lower dead point, a glow plug 31 corresponding to the stop-time compression stroke cylinder 2C is carried with electricity in advance. By injecting fuel into the stop-time compression stroke cylinder 2C from a fuel injection valve 15 while driving a starter motor 34, the diesel engine is restarted.
