PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem of IR drop occurring on a ground line, to suppress increase in layout size, and to reduce power consumption.SOLUTION: An imaging element 100 is equipped with a pixel array unit 1, a first current source 21, a first ground line GL, a first switch 22, a first capacity element 24, a second switch 23, and a current control circuit 5. The current control circuit 5 controls the first switch 22 into an off state and the second switch 23 into an on state in a first period for performing charging operation of the first capacity element 24, and controls the first switch 22 into an on state and the second switch 23 into an off state in a second period for reading a pixel signal.
