Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting system capable of holding certainly a straight tube lamp between a pair of sockets in response to movement of the straight tube lamp in longitudinal direction.SOLUTION: The lighting system is provided with a straight tube lamp 13 having a light source unit with a semiconductor light-emitting element, a translucent cover 24 to house the light source unit, and base parts 25, 26 installed at both ends of the translucent cover 24. The lighting system is provided with a first socket 16 on which the base part 25 on one end side of the straight tube lamp 13 is installed and which regulates movement of the straight tube lamp 13 in the longitudinal direction. Furthermore, the lighting system is provided with a second socket 17 on which the base part 26 on the other end side of the straight tube lamp 13 is installed and which permits movement of the straight tube lamp 13 in the longitudinal direction.
