PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooker which allows the mode setting of guide function appropriate for users.SOLUTION: A cooker comprises: heating means; a main power supply switch 50 for turning on/off power supply to the heating means; a plurality of operation switches for inputting operations relating to cooking done by the heating means; a speaker 113 for informing a user of predetermined guide information; and a controller 100 for selecting a beginner mode or an expert mode and controlling an output method of the guide information according to the mode selected most recently. The controller 100 selects either the beginner mode or the expert mode according to a first time period t1, which is a period from the moment when the main power supply switch 50 is turned on to the moment when a first predetermined operation relating to the cooking is inputted via the operation switches, and a second time period t2, which is a period from the moment when the first predetermined operation is inputted to the moment when a second predetermined operation relating to the cooking is inputted via the operation switches.
