BROADCASTING SYSTEM AND BROADCASTING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique which allows effective guidance for viewing from a wide-area broadcasting service to an area broadcasting service.SOLUTION: In a broadcasting system according to the present invention, the wide-area broadcasting service which is broadcast in a predetermined wide-area range, and an area broadcasting service for each area on a predetermined channel in an area within the predetermined wire-area range are implemented. The broadcasting system includes: a transmission device for transmitting the area broadcasting service on the predetermined channel in the area; an area broadcasting service database in which channel information of the area broadcasting service transmitted by the transmission device of the area and position information of the area are stored in association with each other; a wide-area broadcasting service transmission device for transmitting information of transition to the area broadcasting service, which includes the channel information and the position information of the area broadcasting service, in the wide-area broadcasting service; and a receiver which receives the wide-area broadcasting service, filters an area broadcasting service viewable at a current position from the information of transition on the basis of acquired current position information, and performs display for making a transition to the area broadcasting service viewable at the current position.
