A control part 120 controls to change the recording format when a specific operation is performed or a certain condition is met. Thus, the control part 120 controls to change the recording format so that each of the contents is managed by a management system other than a current management system for each of the contents stored in the recording medium 200. Also, the certain condition may be a condition specified by a relation between recording capacity of the recording medium 200 and the number of the plurality of contents that are to be recording objects of the recording medium 200, or a condition specified by a connection method with the recording medium 200 through a recording medium I/F 160.
