PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner which can keep the interior of an indoor unit clean for a long period of time and achieving a comfortable indoor environment.SOLUTION: The air conditioner includes: a heat exchanger; a cross flow fan which blows air to perform heat exchange at a heat exchanger; a casing part in which a wind path for guiding an air stream from the cross flow fan is formed; a blowout port arranged continuously with the casing part; a vertical wind direction plate which controls the vertical direction of a blowout wind blown out of the blowout port; and a horizontal wind direction plate which controls the horizontal direction of the blowout wind blown out of the blowout port, wherein a minus ion-generating device is arranged on the blowout port arranged continuously with the casing part, a metal plate is arranged on the casing part and a minus potential is applied to the metal plate. According to the air conditioner, dust including mold spores electrified with minus charge repels the metal plate to which the minus potential is applied, consequently, deposition of the dusts to the casing part is suppressed and accordingly, the interior of an indoor unit is kept clean for a long period of time and a comfortable indoor environment can be achieved.
