PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic component mounting device and an electronic component mounting method, capable of ensuring the stable holding force of a suction nozzle in a component holding state, and facilitating attaching/detaching when exchanging a nozzle.SOLUTION: A nozzle holding portion 25 detachably holding the suction nozzle 26 is equipped with a clamping mechanism composed of a plurality of clamp arms clamping a clamped portion provided at the suction nozzle 26 and an annular spring member 33 energizing the clamp arms 32 in a clamping direction, a clamping force reinforcing mechanism reinforcing clamping force by making an cylindrical member 30 abut on the annular spring member 33 from an outer peripheral side to regulate displacement in an outer diametrical direction, and reinforcement switching means switching the executing of the reinforcement and the releasing of the reinforcement of the clamping force by fitting/detaching the cylindrical member 30 to/from the annular spring member 33.
