PAPER FEED DEVICE AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS INCLUDING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper feed device which prevents paper from slipping on a belt during skew correction, reduces the time required for paper resist, and ensures high productivity, and an image forming apparatus including the same.SOLUTION: The paper feed device includes: a conveying roller configured to convey paper; a rotating body configured to suck and convey the paper conveyed by the conveying roller and having a plurality of suction holes; a suction part configured to suck the paper on the rotating body by air suction; an air suction means connected to the suction part and configured to perform the air suction; a resist means disposed on a downstream side in the paper conveying direction of the rotating body and configured to correct the skew of the paper. The air suction means is constituted to vary the amount of air, and the paper is sucked and conveyed on the rotating body through the suction part by air suction by the air suction means. The paper skew is corrected by making the amount of air in the air suction smaller than that required by the leading edge of the paper to reach the resist means in synchronization with the leading edge of the paper reaching the resist means.
