LEAD OXIDE BATTERY ELECTRODE PLATE INCLUDING NONWOVEN GLASS MAT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode plate for a lead oxide paste-type battery, including a lead alloy grid, a lead oxide paste and a nonwoven glass mat.SOLUTION: The nonwoven glass mat includes: a glass fiber having a diameter of more than 10 microns; a binder for the glass fiber; and a third constituent. The third constituent may contain a cellulose fiber, a glass micro fiber, a polymer fiber, a filler or a mixture thereof. The presence of the third constituent maintains such that a lead oxide paste is not accumulated in a process facility by restricting penetration of the lead oxide paste into a thickness of the mat during an operation of pasting an electrode plate. Then, the constituent is dissolved in an acid solution for a battery or synergistically reacted with a battery separator, so that an electrolyte can be sent to a lead oxide electrode plate during operation of a battery.
