PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus and an image processing apparatus that produce an image depicted gently as a whole while allowing a main subject to be depicted in a strong contrast to its surroundings.SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus and an image processing apparatus comprise: region-information acquisition means acquiring region information of at least one specific region in image data; distance-information-table calculation means, for each pixel, calculating distance information from the at least one specific region based on the region information; filter-coefficient-table calculation means calculating a filter coefficient applied on each pixel based on the distance information; and filtering means filtering based on the filter coefficients. The filter-coefficient-table calculation means calculates higher LPF coefficients as the filter coefficients for pixels having longer distance from the specific region, based on the distance information. If there are multiple specific regions, the distance-information-table calculation means acquires respective distances from the multiple specific regions, from which the shortest distance is selected as the respective distance information for respective pixels.
