Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To identify and decide a zone where nozzle clogging is caused or a position of cooling-water feed piping, connected to nozzles, where the nozzle clogging is caused, by obtaining correlative information of nozzle clogging from measurement of temperature distribution in the surface of a slab.SOLUTION: There is provided a method for identifying a clogged position in the cooling-water feed piping of a continuous casting machine. The continuous casting machine is provided with a plurality of pieces of cooling-water feed piping for each cooling zone in the secondary-cooling region thereof. The cooling-water feed piping is connected to a plurality of secondary-cooling spray nozzles that is arranged symmetrically in the width direction of a slab for each cooling zone of the secondary-cooling region. The method has: a step of measuring temperature distribution in the surface of a slab with a radiation thermometer immediately after the slab passes the secondary-cooling region; and a step of deciding whether the temperature distribution is symmetrical or not in the width direction of the slab.
