PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner configured to detect incomplete hooking of a pawl portion of a paper pack fixing component to a paper pack, being caught on the upper surface of a paper pack collar.SOLUTION: A unit for detecting the incomplete hooking to a paper pack, includes a projecting portion 816 provided at the paper pack fixing component 81, and a rib 511 provided on a lid 51. When a user inserts a paper pack 6 into a paper pack insertion guide 82 provided in a dust collecting chamber 531, and then manually turns the paper pack toward a hose connecting port, if the user tens to manually close the lid 51 while the pawl portion 813 of the paper pack fixing component 81 incompletely hooks to the paper pack, being caught on the upper end of the collar 61 of the paper pack 6, the rib 511 of the lid 51 and the projecting portion 816 of the paper pack fixing component 81 abut on each other before the lid 51 closes. Accordingly, the lid 51 is prevented from being closed, the user needs to find the cause of the non-closing lid 51 to recognize and deal with the incomplete hooking of the paper pack.
