Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte and a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery using it capable of more effectively suppressing an overcharge by increasing an internal resistance of the battery as well as suppressing the overcharge by electrolytic polymerization when overcharged.SOLUTION: The nonaqueous electrolyte includes a polymer having a repeating unit produced by electrolytic polymerization at 4.3v to 5.5v based on lithium metal and expressed by formula (1), an electrolyte salt and a nonaqueous solvent. (In the formula (1), A is a functional group that performs the electrolytic polymerization at 4.3v to 5.5v based on lithium metal, and R and R' are each independently a hydrogen atom or a methyl group.)
