PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an illumination device that can perform energy conservation while implementing a comfortable light environment without losing convenience of users.SOLUTION: An illumination device has a "light environment control" mode as a control mode for changing illuminance in accordance with a time zone, and timer setting corresponding to a control mode for defining illuminance at a prescribed time as a control mode for changing an illumination state in accordance with the time. When each of these modes is input from a remote controller (YES at S200 or YES at S204), time information representing the present time is output from the remote controller to the illuminating device in addition to a control command for the input control command (S202, S206, S210). When a control mode using no time other than these modes is input (NO at S200, s204), only a control command for the input control mode is output and no time information is output (S208, S210).
