Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyacrylonitrile-based fiber having an excellent mechanical property at high temperature and a carbon fiber using the polyacrylonitrile-based fiber as a precursor.SOLUTION: A polyacrylonitrile-based fiber comprises an acrylonitryl-based copolymer having an acrylonitryl component of 85-99.9 mol% and a weight average molecular weight of 2,000,000 or greater. The polyacrylonitrile-based fiber has a strength of 1.1 cN/dtex or more at 220°C.
