PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner having a simple structure but preventing the leakage of light of a light emitter.SOLUTION: An air flow path forming body 13 includes a hose body 21 having one end side communicating with the suction side of an electric fan and the other end side having a hand control unit 27 including a grip portion 41. The air flow path forming body 13 includes an extension tube 22 having one end side connected to the hand control unit 27 of the hose body 21. The air flow path forming body 13 includes the light emitter 49 for emitting light when a dust amount detecting unit detects that the amount of dust passing through a flow path W is equal to or larger than a predetermined amount, at a position axially deviated relative to the connected ends of the hand control portion 27 and the extension tube 22, in the hand control unit 27. The air flow path forming body 13 includes, along the longitudinal direction of the extension tube 22, a light guiding body 57 having one end facing the light emitter 49, and guiding light emitted from the light emitter 49 to the other end while one end side of the extension tube 22 is connected to the hand control unit 27.
