INCOMBUSTIBLE LIGHTWEIGHT MULCHING MATERIAL AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an incombustible lightweight mulching material comprising a neutralized-type mulching material which is light in weight, presents incombustibility, is excellent in landscape-forming characteristics and has various functions.SOLUTION: The incombustible lightweight mulching material comprises granulated substance obtained by mixing water with a base material formed by adding at least either one kind of solidification-reacting substance selected from cement, slaked lime and dolomite to at least either one kind of ash selected from coal ash, incinerated ash and volcanic ash, and granulating the mixture: wherein the surface of the granulated substance comprises a neutralized layer subjected to neutralization treatment using both or either of sour gas and/or acidic water. A method for producing the incombustible lightweight mulching material is provided.
