Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrostatic motor that is driven to rotate with sufficient driving force by generating a high electric field under a vacuum, and has more superior durability by reducing friction against a brush on a rotor side.SOLUTION: The electrostatic motor has a disk-like stator S and a disk-like rotor R arranged opposite to each other in a vacuum container 11, the stator S has first electrodes 64A and second electrodes 64B, fitted to electrode support bodies 61 and 62 respectively and electrically insulated from each other by insulators 63, arranged alternately in a circumferential direction, and the rotor R has first electrodes 74A and second electrodes 74B, fitted to electrode support bodies 71 and 72 respectively and electrically insulated from each other by insulators 73, arranged alternately in a circumferential direction. The first electrodes 74A and second electrodes 74B on the side of the rotor R are arranged at intervals of two or more columns at a predetermined distance from the center of a rotary shaft 1, and the first electrodes 64A and second electrodes 64B on the side of the stator S are arranged at a predetermined distance from the center of the rotary shaft 1, and positioned in the middle between the columns of the first electrodes 74A and the second electrodes 74B on the side of the rotor R.
