Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shaft seal device which can make the pressure of an annular chamber of the shaft seal device follow a seawater pressure even when pressurized air can not be supplied.SOLUTION: In the shaft seal device sealing a roller bearing, from seawater, supporting a rotary shaft connected to the turbine blade of a tide power generator, a shaft seal device formed so that at least two seal rings are connected in the shaft direction on a casing side housing the rotary shaft and brought into contact with the rotary shaft side surface to perform sealing is provided, an oil supply tube connected to an oil stock tank provided in a position higher than an annular chamber in the sea is connected to the chambers formed among a plurality of seal rings of the shaft seal device and the oil stock tank is formed to shrink according to the pressure of seawater.
