Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for removing tin and thallium which can remove tin and thallium from a solution in which tin, thallium and indium coexist, and a method for refining indium which can efficiently collect high purity indium from the solution in which tin, thallium and indium coexist.SOLUTION: In the method for removing tin and thallium from a hydrochloric acid solution containing tin, thallium and indium, the hydrochloric acid solution has the concentration of an stannous ion in the hydrochloric acid solution 50 times or larger than the concentration of a thallium ion in a treatment solution, and the treatment solution is subject to cleaning treatment by adding a sulfating agent. In a cleaning treatment, thallium existing in the hydrochloric acid solution coprecipitates with tin sulfide. As the amount of tin in the hydrochloric acid solution is adjusted so as to be sufficient with respect to the amount of thallium, it is possible to produce the amount of precipitation of tin sulfide sufficient to coprecipitate almost all amount of thallium in the hydrochloric acid solution.
