EMERGENCY LIGHTING DEVICE FOR ELEVATOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an emergency lighting device for an elevator which can improve certainty of turning on an emergency light when passengers are trapped in an elevator car when the power fails and the emergency light turns off when passengers are not trapped.SOLUTION: The emergency lighting device for an elevator includes: the emergency light 2 installed in an elevator car 1; a battery 6 used as a power source for the emergency light 2 when electric power transmission for the elevator from a regular power source 8 fails; control means 10 for controlling power supplied to the emergency light 2 from the battery 6; and passenger detection means 4 that is operated by the power of the battery 6 for detecting passengers in the elevator car 1. When passengers are detected by the passenger detection means 4, the control means 10 supplies power to the emergency light 2. When passengers are not detected by the passenger detection means 4, it does not supply power to the emergency light 2.
