Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hot-dip galvanized steel material which has high corrosion resistance and has excellent plating adhesion upon working by optimizing the structure of a plating layer and thickness of a lower layer in a two-step plating process where the surface of the steel is subjected to hot-dip galvanizing, and is thereafter subjected to hot-dip Zn-Al-Mg alloy plating, and to provide a method for producing the hot-dip galvanized steel material.SOLUTION: The surface of the steel material includes: an Fe-Al alloy layer having a thickness of 0.01-1.5 μm as a lower layer; an alloy layer as an intermediate layer formed on the Fe-Al alloy layer and comprising, by mass%, 4-20% Al, 0.1-15% Fe, 0.1-5% Mg and the balance Zn with inevitable impurities; and an alloy layer as an upper layer formed on the intermediate layer and comprising 4-20% Al, 0.1-5% Mg and the balance Zn with inevitable impurities.
