Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst for manufacturing ethylene oxide with a particularly improved selectivity comprising at least silver (Ag), cesium (Cs), rhenium (Re) and a carrier in the catalyst for manufacturing ethylene oxide used for manufacturing ethylene oxide from ethylene.SOLUTION: The catalyst for manufacturing ethylene oxide used for manufacturing ethylene oxide from ethylene comprises at least silver (Ag), cesium (Cs), rhenium (Re) and the carrier. An alkali metal is carried by the carrier, if necessary, as a pre-treatment and is subsequently carried with Ag, Cs and Re to obtain it. As the above carrier, a carrier having a specific surface area of 0.6-3.0 m/g and an acid site of not more than 5.0 pKa is used. A content (based on the carrier) of Re is 170-600 ppm per a specific area of 1 m/g of the carrier and a molar ratio of Cs/Re is 0.3-19.
