Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly control the power during charging secondary batteries in a charging system having a plurality of chargers.SOLUTION: The charging system is provided in each of electric vehicles 161A to 161C. The charging system includes an on-board charger for charging a battery, and a system controller 10 connected to a vehicle-side controller of each of the electric vehicles 161A to 161C so as to be capable of communicating with them to control the charging operation by the on-board charger. The individual on-board chargers send a maximum charging power value in compliance with the battery to be charged to the system controller. The system controller adds the maximum charging power values received from the individual on-board chargers to calculate a total charging power value. When the total charging power value exceeds a contract power value, the system controller changes the maximum charging power value in each on-board charger so that the total charging power value may be equal to or lower than the contract power value.
