Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine flywheel device and a method for manufacturing the same, capable of achieving attachment of a cap while sufficiently ensuring the torque capacity of a hub by forming the shaft hole of the hub of a driven plate into a spline hole over the whole length of the shaft hole of the hub.SOLUTION: In this flywheel device, a mass ring 5 is connected to a drive plate 4 connected to the shaft end of the crankshaft 1 of an engine, the driven plate 7 is connected through a torque damper 8 to an annular holder plate 6 connected to the mass ring 5, the shaft hole of the hub 7a of the driven plate 7 is formed into the spline hole 44 over substantially the whole length of the shaft hole of the hub, and the spline shaft 2a of an output shaft 2 is fitted to the spline hole 44. The cap 45 for preventing outflow of grease applied to the spline hole 44 is fitted and fixed to the peripheral surface of the end of the hub 7a on the side opposite to the output shaft 2.
