Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bearing unit assuring superior reliability capable of suppressing the rise or change of a torque and the generation of lubricant leakage by making controllable the flow condition of the lubricant in the internal space of a bearing, retaining desired lubricating performance over the whole internal space of the bearing, and allowing a stable, continuous use over a long period of time.SOLUTION: The bearing unit is structured so that the virtual circle diameters PCD of rolling elements 6 and 8 installed in double rows in the internal space H of the bearing are set differently from each other, and in a region of the bearing internal space where the diameter increases gradually toward the end, stepped surfaces 2R and 4R with the diameter enlarged from the inboard side toward the outboard side are formed on the mating faces 2m and 4m of a stationary ring 2 and a rotary ring 4, and a sealing member 20 extending in the direction crossing the bearing internal surface is installed in the diametrically enlarged region, wherein the base end 20a of the sealing member is fixed to the mating face of either of the stationary ring and rotary ring while the forefront 20b is located to confront the mating face or stepped surface of the other of the two rings.
