PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow check of the contents in a sheet bundle bound by one of binding processes and then make check of the contents in a sheet bundle bound by the other binding process difficult.SOLUTION: A paper sheet processing apparatus 3 includes: a compiling stack part 35 stacking a plurality of paper sheets S as a bundle of paper sheets S piled in an aligned state; a stapler 40 binding aligned first ends in the stacked bundle of paper sheets S; an opening part 69 discharging the bound bundle of paper sheets S and accepting a bundle of paper sheets S in a reverse direction to a direction in which the discharged bundle of paper sheets S is discharged; and a staple-free binding device 50 binding second ends in the bundle of paper sheets S accepted by the opening part 69 and arranged on the compiling stack part 35.
