PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dishwasher saving energy by guiding steam to a heat exchanger and raising the temperature of feed water, and at the same time returning drainage water to the interior of a washing chamber.SOLUTION: The dishwasher includes: a back plate 7 raised at the rear of a body 2; the washing chamber 3 formed at the upper part of the body in front of the back plate; and a door 6 that is vertically movably supported at a rail 13 of the back plate and closes the front face, the upper face and both side faces for opening/closing the washing chamber. The dishwasher further includes: a back plate covering the back face of the door; an opening 15 provided at the back plate for allowing the steam in the washing chamber to head for the back; an exhaust dust 27 for exhausting the steam from the opening; a heat exchanger 5 provided inside the exhaust dust for exchanging heat between the steam and the feed water; and a slope 25 that guides the steam from the opening to the heat exchanger, and guides the drainage water from the heat exchanger, to the interior of the washing chamber.
