PORTABLE TERMINAL WITH DIGITAL BROADCAST RECEIVING FUNCTION, AND SCREEN DISPLAY METHOD USED IN THE PORTABLE TERMINAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable terminal which determines that a user holds the portable terminal by hands, at a suitable timing and performs screen display so that receiving environment is improved, in conjunction with a receiving state of digital broadcast.SOLUTION: When an antenna 4 for receiving the digital broadcast of the portable terminal 1a receives digital broadcast waves, although a detection means (sensor part) 2 detects whether the antenna 4 for receiving the digital broadcast is covered with a part of a human body, a digital broadcast receiving/demodulating unit(not illustrated) receives and demodulates the digital broadcast waves and outputs a carrier wave power to noise power ratio signal, a data error rate signal, a synchronizing state signal, a reception level determination means (not illustrated) determines a reception level of the digital broadcast wave signal, based on the carrier wave power to noise power ratio signal, the data error rate signal, the synchronization state signal output by the digital broadcast reception/demodulation part. The portable terminal 1 is notified of the current reception state of the digital broadcast waves, based on detection information of the sensor part 2 and determination information of the reception level of the reception level determination means 6a.
