LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE AND ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT PROVIDED WITH THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device in which a transparent body, a liquid crystal panel and a lighting device are fixed with an adhesive, the liquid crystal display device allowing the adhesive to be easily supplied and having improved impact resistance.SOLUTION: A transparent body 8 which has a smaller outer periphery than the liquid crystal panel, is entirely bonded to a display surface of the liquid crystal panel, and a light guide plate 12 of the lighting device or an optical sheet 14 on the light guide plate 12 is fixed on a rear surface of the liquid crystal panel with an adhesive material 17. The light guide plate, the optical sheet 14, and the liquid crystal panel are housed in a frame body 16, and an outer periphery of the liquid crystal panel excluding a terminal portion is surrounded by a side wall of the frame body 16. A height of the side wall of the frame body 16 is set lower than that of a top surface of the transparent body 8, and an adhesive 18 is provided in gaps between the side wall and the liquid crystal panel as well as the transparent body up to substantially the same height as the side wall; thereby the transparent body 8, the liquid crystal panel, and the lighting device are bonded and fixed.
