IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that suppresses a decrease in printing speed resulting from adjusting operation for determining driving conditions of an image forming means such as maximum density control, γ correction control, and resist control.SOLUTION: An intermediate transfer belt 11 carries a toner image. A transfer part 8 and an imaging part 22 form the toner image on the intermediate transfer belt 11. Sensors 34a and 34b detect a toner density of the intermediate transfer belt 11. A control part 30 makes the transfer part 8 and imaging part 22 form a test toner image on the intermediate transfer belt 11, and determines whether the adjusting operation needs to be executed to adjust a plurality of kinds of driving conditions of the transfer part 8 and imaging part 22 in forming the toner image.
