Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a polymer composition suppressing increase in viscosity during reaction.SOLUTION: The method for producing the polymer composition comprises a step of obtaining a monomer emulsion by mixing at least one of starch and dextrin with a monomer, and a step of obtaining a polymer dispersion containing the polymer composition by subjecting the monomer emulsion to reaction. In the monomer emulsion, at least one of the starch and the dextrin is slurry. By this constitution, the starch and the like can be dispersed during the reaction, and increase in viscosity during the reaction can be suppressed. Further, localization of the starch and the like can be allowed, and performance such as water resistance and alkali resistance, which may be concerned in use of the starch and the like, can be maintained.
