Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing atorvastatin in a stable crystalline form which is a medicament for treating hyperlipemia and hypercholesterolemia.SOLUTION: The method for producing a crystalline form I atorvastatin or its hydrate includes (a) a step of treating an aqueous solution of [R-(R*,R*)]-2-(4-fluorophenyl)-β,δ-dihydroxy-5-(1-methylethyl)-3-phenyl-4-[(phenylamino)carbonyl]-1H-pyrrole-1-heptanoic acid basic salt with a calcium salt, and (b) a stop of isolating the crystalline form I atorvastatin or its hydrate.
