STEERING DEVICE FOR VEHICLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering device which prevents a stick-slip where a distance bracket slides on a surface of an adjusting bracket by an assist reaction force, and prevents the occurrence of an interference sound of the distance bracket and the adjusting bracket.SOLUTION: A left projecting portion 25 and a right projecting portion 26, which have the same shape and are opposite to each other, are formed on outer surfaces 21a, 22a of a left plate 21 and a right plate 22 of a distance bracket 20 at both front and rear sides across right and left bolt through holes 23, 24. When the axial force of a tilt bolt 30 is generated by operating a tilt lever 60 in a clamping direction so that the distance bracket 20 is clamped to the adjusting bracket 10, the forces which the right and left plates 21, 22 receive from the inner surfaces 11a, 12a of the right and left plates 11, 12 are applied intensively on outer surfaces of the left projecting portion 25 and the right projecting portion 26 to strength the holding force.
