Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink set for inkjet recording which not cause the deterioration of a washing property accompanied by the lowering of pH during storage, can stably keep the discharge performance of an ink discharging head, and suppresses the corrosion of the ink discharging head, and to provide an image forming method by which stable discharging performance can be maintained for a long period of time, and a desired image can be formed.SOLUTION: The ink set for inkjet recording includes: an ink composition containing water, a pigment and a polymer particle; and a maintenance liquid containing alkane-1, 2-diol mono-alkyl ether which has a ClogP value from 0.6 to 1.0. The image forming method using the ink set is also provided.
