WORKPIECE SEPARATING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To separate a workpiece accurately, efficiently and easily from a mixture of the workpiece and cutting chips.SOLUTION: The mixture 3 of the workpiece 31 and the cutting chips 32 is thrown into fluid 2 inside a vessel 1, the fluid 2 is supplied into the vessel 1 by a fluid supplying means 4 so as to impede settling of the mixture 3 in the fluid 2, one of the workpiece 31 and the cutting chips 32 is settled downward in the vessel 1 by a flow of the fluid 2, the other is floated to the upper side of the vessel 1, and the both are thereby separated. A valve 43 is arranged on the fluid supplying means 4 side as a flow rate adjusting means adjusting the flow rate of the fluid 2 supplied to the vessel 1, a settling speed detecting means 441 of a control device 44 detects the settling speed of the workpiece 31 and the cutting chips 32, and a flow rate setting means 442 calculates the flow rate of the fluid 2 based on respective settling speeds of the workpiece 31 and the cutting chips 32 in a state where the fluid 2 is not supplied and the speed of the flow when the fluid 2 is supplied by the fluid supplying means 4.
