Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide water-based pigment dispersion liquid excellent in dispersion stability and preservation stability; and to provide dispersion-type recording liquid which has a high printing concentration on plain paper, provides a printed matter with high quality of a printed character, and has a good discharge characteristic. SOLUTION: The water-based pigment dispersion liquid comprises: (a) a pigment; (b) a hydrophobic group-containing anionic polymer; and (c) an aqueous medium, wherein the weight of (a) the pigment is 11 times or more and 99 times or less the weight of (b) the hydrophobic group-containing anionic polymer; and a molar ratio of a hydrophobic monomers structural unit/an anionic monomer structural unit in (b) the hydrophobic group-containing anionic polymer is 30/70 to 90/10.
