DEVICE AND METHOD FOR MANAGING BAND, AND PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately start communication even when it is impossible to keep a required band in a band-assured network. SOLUTION: The method for managing the band is performed through a server managing the band of the communication in the band-assured network. The method includes steps: for receiving the data of the lowest band and the required band; for determining whether or not the band is in a predetermined condition to suppress communication data quantity at the initiating point of communication, based on the data about the communication data quantity or the data about utilizing bandwidth in each of path in the network; for specifying the possibly ensuring widest band based on the data in a band-data storage, and determining whether or not the band is wider than the lowest band, when it is determined that the band is not in the predetermined condition; and for transmitting an allocation command including the narrower data of the specified band and the required band to a router relating to the communication, when the band is determined as wider than the lowest band.
