Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a blue pigment for a color filter with which a liquid crystal display device etc. achieving liquid crystal display with excellent luminance for a long period of time even at high temperature can be provided, and to provide a color filter containing the blue pigment in the blue pixel section. SOLUTION: The blue pigment for a color filter includes an anion of a basic triarylmethane dye represented by general formula (I), containing one or a plurality of elements selected from tungsten, silicon, and phosphorus, and oxygen as essential elements, wherein in general formula (I), each of R1s is a hydrogen atom, a 1-12C alkyl group, or a 7-16C aralkyl group identical to or different from one another, and X-is an anion containing one or a plurality of elements selected from tungsten, silicon, and phosphorus, and oxygen as essential elements, however, containing no molybdenum.
