BASE-ISOLATING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a base-isolating method which enables a newly-built building frame to be constructed directly below an existing building, and which enables base isolation of the existing building. SOLUTION: This base-isolating method achieves the base isolation of the existing building 1 which includes an existing foundation 10 and an existing building frame 20 provided on the existing foundation 10. The base-isolating method includes: a step of constructing an earth retaining wall 30 and a pile as a supporting section with the existing building 1 in between; a step of laying a supporting girder 50 between the earth retaining wall 30 and a composite column-and-pier 32 of a pile through the existing building frame 20, and of making the supporting girder 50 temporarily support the existing building frame 20; a step of demolishing the existing foundation 10 by separating the existing foundation 10 from the existing building frame 20, and of constructing the newly-built building frame directly below the existing building frame 20; a step of removing the supporting girder 50 by making the newly-built building frame temporarily support the existing building frame 20; and a step of installing a base-isolating device between the newly-built building frame and existing building frame 20, and of making the base-isolating device support the existing building frame 20.
