Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning device and a cleaning method capable of altering the shape of a pressing member to press a cleaning object. SOLUTION: The cleaning device includes the pressing member 10a capable of altering the shape thereof by external force; a pair of holders 21a and 22a to pinch the pressing member 10a; a changing mechanism capable of changing the pinching pressure with which the holders 21a and 22a pinch the pressing member 10a so as to alter the shape the protrusion 11a of the pressing member 10a protruding from the holders 21a and 22a; a pressing mechanism to press the holders 21a and 22a toward the cleaning object so that the protrusion 11a of the pressing member 10a presses the cleaning object; and a rocking mechanism to rock the holders 21a and 22a so that the protrusion 11a of the pressing member 10a scrubs the cleaning object while pressing the cleaning object.
