Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projection type display device including a light source device which enhances uniformity of illuminance distribution on a screen by making efficiency of using light high. SOLUTION: The light source device includes: a first light source lamp 31 and a second light source lamp 32; a light intensity uniformizing element 40; a reflection element 60 which reflects luminous flux L1emitted from the first light source lamp 31 to the side of the light intensity uniformizing element 40, and which is disposed by having an angle larger than 45 degrees to an axis orthogonal to an incident end 40a of the light intensity uniformizing element 40; an image display element 20 which modulates luminous flux L3emitted from the light intensity uniformizing element 40 to convert it into image light L4; and a projection optical system 50 which projects the image light L4to the screen SC.
