Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell system capable of stably carrying out power generation operation even in the case load fluctuations are caused. SOLUTION: The fuel cell system 10 has fuel cell modules 20a, 20b in planar alignment. The fuel cell modules 20a, 20b respectively include a plurality of membrane-electrode assemblies in planar alignment, and hydrogen stored in a fuel cartridge 30 can be supplied to an anode of the fuel cell modules 20a, 20b. In the case an external load connected to the fuel cell system 10 is within a prescribed threshold, and at least one of temperature of the fuel cell module 20a and temperature of the fuel cell module 20b is a prescribed threshold temperature or less, a control 40 carries out control to alternately connect the fuel cell module 20a and the fuel cell module 20b to the external load.
