Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel lithium-air secondary battery, exhibiting more superior cycle characteristics and energy efficiency, and to provide a method of manufacturing an air electrode of the same. SOLUTION: The lithium-air secondary battery has the air electrode 1 mainly composed of carbon, a negative electrode 2 including metallic lithium or a lithium-containing substance, and an organic electrolyte 3 contacting the air electrode 1 and the negative electrode 2. Ruthenium (Ru) oxide is added to the air electrode 1. As a result, since a voltage difference of charge and discharge is small, and deterioration of a discharge capacity can be suppressed even if charge and discharge cycles are repeated, more superior cycle characteristics and energy efficiency can be exhibited.
