BRAKING DEVICE FOR SLIDING DOOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a braking force act on a sliding door when the sliding door is swiftly opened; to prevent the braking force from acting on the sliding door, when the sliding door is slowly opened; and to prevent the action of the braking force when the sliding door is closed after being put into a fully opened state. SOLUTION: This braking device includes a braking device body 2 which is disposed in the sliding door 4, and a frame-side member 3 which is disposed on the side of a head jamb. The braking device body 2 comprises: a base 5; a brake shoe 6 which is constituted by combining a pair of right and left members 9 and 10 with erected walls 9A and 10A having outer surfaces functioning as sliding ones, which can slide within a predetermined section along the moving direction of the sliding door in the base 5, which is urged to a door tail side and held, which has an interval between the erected walls 9A and 10A set relatively short, in the state of being positioned on the door tail side, and which has the interval between the erected walls 9A and 10A set relatively longer, in the state of being moved to a door end side; and a trigger member 7 which is provided in the state of being protruded upward, urged upward and held, in the door tail-side position of the brake shoe 6, and which can recede inward.
