METHOD FOR ADJUSTING COMPOSITION OF SLAG IN FURNACE FOR STORING PIG IRON AND THE FURNACE FOR STORING THE PIG IRON

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for adjusting the composition of slag, with which erosion of a molten iron tapping hole refractory caused by slag can efficiently be suppressed, when the slag composition in the furnace is adjusted for the purpose of improving service life of the furnace body refractory in the pig iron storage furnace for storing the molten pig iron, and to provide a furnace for storing the pig iron, most suitable for implementing the method for adjusting composition of the slag. SOLUTION: The method for adjusting the composition of the slag in the furnace for storing the pig iron includes locally charging a slag composition adjusting agent in the slag near the molten pig iron tapping hole 2 of the furnace 1 for storing the pig iron, when the composition of the slag is adjusted by charging the slag composition adjusting agent for preventing the erosion of the refractory in the slag in the furnace for storing the pig iron. Further, the furnace for storing the pig iron is provided with an adjusting agent charging opening hole part 9 for charging the slag composition adjusting agent for preventing the erosion of the refractory at a roof side which is not brought into contact with the molten pig iron, and a position equivalent to the upper part of the pig iron tapping hole 2 of the furnace 1 for storing the pig iron.
