Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively protect occupants seated in a vehicular sheet upon vehicle side collision or rolling. SOLUTION: The occupant protection device includes: a seat belt device 2 with a webbing 7 composed of a shoulder belt 5 and a lap belt 6; a pressure mechanism for applying tension to the webbing 7 upon vehicle collision and pressing the webbing 7 against an occupant; a drive mechanism for moving at least the upper body of an occupant under a pressure state of the webbing to the inward side in the vehicle width direction; and a side air bag device 3 for deploying the side air bag 34 upon vehicle side collision. The occupant protection device is structured to enable an occupant to move to the outward side in the vehicle width direction by canceling a lock state of the webbing 7 with a lock mechanism installed on a retractor 8 when a predetermined time has elapsed after the operation of the drive mechanism and the side air bag device.
